Zephaniah teams with Leopard for murder drama
Poet Benjamin Zephaniah is working with Leopard Films on his first TV drama project for 17 years.
Zephaniah is adapting his 2007 book Teacher's Dead, about a young boy who witnesses the murder of a teacher by two of his fellow students. Leopard and Zephaniah are in discussions with BBC2 about the project, which is intended to be 90-minutes long. The script will be delivered in September.
Zephaniah's last TV drama was Dead Poets' Society, a BBC2 play he co-wrote with David Stafford.
Meanwhile, Leopard is setting up a production office in Glasgow to add to its bases in London and New York.
